"Only the phatest beats and freshest cuts allowed on these turntables."
One of the last designs I would be able to upload before the shop was axed, this one unfortunately wasn't up long enough to see any sales. Not for lack of interest though, I got some great feedback on these. Vinyl Scratch, AKA DJ Pon-3, both of which are names chosen by fans. It's amazing how much people take to background ponies in this show. Considering how expressive and unique they often are, it's not really a surprise. Vinyl is a DJ, so her shoe had to reflect that somehow. The tongue of the shoe in this design depicts a spinning turntable, the label on which matches the lenses of Vinyl's stylish glasses. Couple that with the bright blue tail design on the heel, and I swear the only thing the Turntablist shoes are missing is glow in the dark ink.
Fans often associate DJ Pon-3 with genres like eurobeat or dubstep, but when I see that gif of her nodding her head to the beat, well, am I the only one thinking of Rock It by Herby Hancock?
Seriously, look it up if you've never heard it.
